Designed in San Francisco and handcrafted in India, Seema Krish textiles blend ancient techniques with a bold modernity through layers of intricate details and brilliant color. Informed by a dedication to telling the story of Indian craftsmanship, their products are made by hand one yard at a time, giving new context to the time-honored techniques of hand block printing, embroidery and weaving.
Having lived and worked in Bombay, New York City, Boston and San Francisco, Seema Krish draws from a global tapestry of influences to craft her contemporary textile and wallcovering collections. Seema studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and worked with Robert Allen and Tokyo-based textile house Nuno before founding her own collection in 2012.
Each of Seema’s designs begin with paint and paper in her studio in San Francisco and are translated by master artisans in Bangalore, India into distinctive works on fabric. At the core of Seema’s design philosophy is the desire to preserve and honor long-established craft traditions through extraordinary color and pattern.
