Alex Conroy is drawn to a wide range of artistic and decorative styles that have made their way into her textile designs, including Indian block-prints, Italian ceramics, and English transferware. “I find inspiration everywhere,” Alex notes, “from the natural landscapes of California’s rolling hills to wrought iron gates, mosaic floors, and painted tiles. When I traveled to India a few years ago, the rich décor and architecture inspired me to think about design in a different way.”
“As a textile designer, I have tried to address the problems I regularly face in working with my clients—lack of compatible textiles and difficulty sourcing solid fabrics that match patterned ones,” Alex says. “I designed a flexible collection that allows clients a broad choice, along with the freedom to mix and match pattern, scale, and color.” Her collection is available in two distinct color palettes - bright and pastel - and are printed on both natural and oyster linen. When creating the collection, Alex paid particular attention to sourcing single-color linens, so that designers need not spend long hours matching solid colors to her patterned fabrics.
Alex Conroy Textiles are hand-drawn and printed to order using eco-friendly, light-fast dyes on the finest Belgian linen. Custom color requests are welcome. We can match your color needs with our pattern library to create a textile that is uniquely yours.
